Verdict on Rural Transit Bus

Rural Transit Bus

Rural Bus Line is the leading bus company that travels especially in the Western and Central Mindanao.  I have availed of its services for few years already and my experience has been satisfactory. The aircon is nice and the drivers and conductors are very courteous. My verdict: Good!

Review: Nickey’s Travellers Inn

The Worst Inn of all inns I Ever Checked In

Name of Hotel: Nickey’s Traveller’s In

Location: Zamboanga City, Mindanao, Philippines

Your Accommodation when You Checked in: Single Accommodation, without Aircon but with CR

Charge: 400 pesos (10 US dollars)

First Impression: clean

Counter / Info booth Area: young lady

Wifi: Not Available

CR: Not Very Clean, it stinks!

Bed: Clean, Well Arranged

Advantage: it can be located in the heart of Zamboanga City

What More Can You Say About it: I had a very bad experience with this inn. I checked in at around 9 in the evening and the in charge woke me up at 4 in the morning, telling me that I must go out. I could not understand why she was acting that way. I felt so bad about the incident. And while I was going out my way, I heard the owner and the young lady at the counter quarreling. Very disappointing!!!

Verdict: I don’t recommend that you check in on this inn.

Who is Aman? Where is He Now?

The Face of Aman

Got this picture from Facebook.

Aman is actually not a person.

It is the name of the company “Aman Group Philippines, Inc.”

It’s head is Manuel K. Amalilio.

He is a Filipino of Malaysian descent,

who solicited investments or money placements,

promising to return the entire sum in the form of post-dated checks

plus investment profit raging from 15 to 30 percent to as high as 40 percent.

The SEC said “it appears that what lures investors in

parting with their money

is the promise and corresponding expectation of

high returns or profits.”

Zamboanga City Tricyles: A Review

Racing with the Tricycles of Zamboanga City

Let me begin by saying I am happy that the city government of Zamboanga doesn’t allow additional tricycles to operate in the pueblo. This only means that the tricycles of Zamboanga City are bound to be extinct and their drivers in the future have to look for alternatives ways to raise money for their families.

Since this extinction I am talking about is not yet to happen in the near future, passengers have to endure the “financial harassment” of several drivers. Zamboanga City tricycle drivers asked for very high prices when you ask for their service. If you are from the airport and you are Pagadian bound, for example, the tricycle driver usually charges 100 pesos. Come to think of it, isn’t it the same when you ride a taxi?

Perhaps it’s high time for Zamboanga City to abolish their tricycles and settle with taxis.
